Loftia Steam-to-Switch cross-progression has not been confirmed as of October 23, 2026. You should not assume that a character started on Steam will move to Switch. The Switch release is planned for 2027, and each platform requires its own game purchase.
Three different features to distinguish

An online account does not automatically establish any of these features. The existence of a shared world also does not tell you whether a future console version can use the same character or cosmetics.
What is confirmed to carry forward
The current Steam Next Fest demo has a specific progression promise: completed quests, collected items, character progression, and your character name can carry into Early Access. The demo announcement requires linking your Loftia website account in-game using your email address and warns that unlinked progress and rewards cannot be recovered.
That promise connects the demo to Early Access. It does not establish transfer from Steam to the future Nintendo version. Linking an account now is useful for the announced demo carryover, but should not be treated as a confirmed Switch migration procedure.
Choose a platform based on where you can play
If you want to begin on a computer, the free Steam demo is playable during the current Next Fest window, ahead of the November 3 Early Access launch. Buy the computer edition because you want to play it there, allowing for a separate purchase if you later choose Switch.
If continuing the same character on Switch is essential, wait for an announcement that specifically confirms shared progress and explains any limits. The 2027 Switch window alone does not answer that question. There is currently no verified account-linking sequence or transfer button to follow for Steam-to-Switch migration.
